The
qualifying round of the IV International Competition on Commercial

The
competition is a simulation of an arbitration proceeding for educational

contract of sale, subject to international arbitration. Within the framework of
the competition, teams complete all stages of the arbitration process:
preparation of two memoranda (positions of both parties), presenting its
position during the oral debates with the opposing teams, implementation or
appeal of final arbitration award.
Konstantin Pilkov, Cai & Lenard’s Managing Partner and Head of the International Commercial and Investment Arbitration
Practices became
one of the jury members. The competition jury evaluated the performance of
contestants, their ability to debate and answer questions and their oratorical
art. In addition, the jury determined the best speakers of the contest day who
were awarded with certificates and books on arbitration.
This year six Ukrainian universities competed
for a place in the final round of the competition. According to the results of the oral
debates, three teams reached the final round, which is scheduled for the beginning of April 2017.
